I was a recruiter for over 14 years for major employers all across the country. During that time I routinely observed the subtle and sometimes not so subtle bias that far too many employers have against so called 'older' workers. Like all discrimination, ageism is illogical and hurtful. An HR manager's refusal to interview a 42 or 47 or 52 year old candidate with great skills not only harms that candidate and his family but it also is damaging to the HR manager's company. Everybody loses.
Jobs4.0 is working to alter the dynamic of over 40 workers feeling defensive about their age, their years of experience and their graduation dates.
